Amazing God

SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 6/15

Luke 5:9
"Amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish"

The catch of fish had clouded the disciples, and Peter's eyes.
All they could see were wriggling fish
and not the Son of God.
Jesus wanted them to see the vision
of them stepping out in faith
to win many for the Kingdom of God.

Is our vision of our God so small
that we find it difficult to respond to His call?
This is so often the case because we unintentionally
confine? His glory to our small finite world
and unconsciously devalue His influence in our lives.
Do we argue with God through our seeking,
instead of accepting His gift of grace through faith
and growing in His fullness?

Are our eyes focused on the miracle of the fishes
instead of basking in the glory of God's Son?

Sometimes I wonder if the glory of God's creation
in this natural world is too glorious for us to comprehend.
The fabric of this world is shattering
before our very eyes,
yet we must see beyond what is obvious
to what is glorious.

Isaiah's vision for us is
"They shall soar on wings like eagles;
They will run and not grow weary,
They will walk and not be faint."
