SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 6/30
1 Cor. 15:10
"It was not I but God who was working
through me by His grace"
Paul had more right than the early disciples of his day,
to claim praise and glory
for his own achievements.
Instead he said "It is not I but God".
Paul's letters reflect how he felt,
"to the praise of His glory by His grace."
At the end of each day
can we go to sleep
with those words ringing in our ears:
"It was not I but God who was working
through me by His grace"?
When I receive emails of thanks for SFH
I am challenged to remain humble.
For Paul it was "by His grace" that he was equipped
to be an apostle for the Gentiles.
It is important that when we have opportunity
to share with another
the bounties of our God,
that we do it "by His grace".
Too often our witnessing imparts the wrong emphasis.
It can sound like "Look, what God has done for me",
instead of, "what God can, through His grace, do for you."
For all who have been called of God
to be sharers of Jesus' Good News
that call must include the challenge of humility.
The Living Word reminds us that
"the Lord mocks the mocker
but is gracious to the humble".
