SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-16
Phil 4:13
"I can do everything with the help of Christ
who gives me the strength I need."
It is not easy to say "amen" to these words
because we stumble on "I can do everything."
Is it possible to do everything?
Can I really do anything?
One of the encouraging things about the Living Word
is that it is always positive
but we must always remember that we need the help of God.
We can do everything, only through Jesus' help.
Here God is offering us His strength.
But we must believe in, and accept His offer,
then everything is possible through Christ.
Why is it that so often we exclude God
from our reasoning?
Is it because we find it so hard to believe Him?
We should seek God's help before
we begin to reason with our own understanding.
It is so important that we begin
"with the help of Christ,"
Its important to note that He does not give us everything,
but only "the strength" we "need."
The Amplified Bible says
"He who infuses inner strength into me."
What a wonderful promise.
I believe that God knows
better than I do, how much strength I need
to perform a task in His name?

It seems to me that I clearly cannot do “everything” or “all things” as I am used to reading that verse. I wonder if what is intended by Paul is “everything necessary”. Thoughts?
