SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-21
John 6: 37
"Those the Father has given me will come to me,
and I will never reject them."
Here is the good news.
God the Father has chosen us,
and passed our names onto Jesus, and he will never let us go.
We will never understand these words
until we put them in their right context.
Jesus is talking about God at work
beyond our human time frame.
Therefore these words describe events
that have happened before our time,
and they affect us today.
We cannot relate them to a day or year in our lifespan.
Nor can we reason these words out
while we are trapped in our earthly existence.
What abounding joy are these words for us,
spoken by Jesus
"Those the Father has given me will come to me".
Forget about the how, where, when and why,
just rejoice in the fact
that it has really happened to us.
Then comes this rich promise from Jesus,
"I will never reject them".
This is Jesus' eternal promise to us all.
He is continually calling us
out of our three score and ten years,
and explaining to us how the Father works in our lives.
"and he will give you all you need from day to day
if you live for him".
