SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 6/43

John 17:7
"Everything I have is a gift from You.
For I have passed on the words You have given Me."

These are the words spoken by Jesus,
to His Father, and eventually revealed to us.
They are His final words
spoken in the Upper Room, before His crucifixion.

He communicated to the Father, through prayer,
many times as recorded in the gospels,
but these words are special.

The New Living Translation uses the word "gift"
to describe all that Jesus had received from the Father.
I don't know of a richer word to describe
all that Jesus had received from the Father.
These same "Gifts" we have received from Jesus.
He describes this gift in the following words
"The words You (the Father) have given me."

This gift for us is not contained
in any translation of the scriptures
but through the Living Word
as revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.

That is what Jesus meant when He said
concerning the work of the Holy Spirit,
after He was glorified:
"He will bring Me glory
by revealing to you
whatever He receives from Me."

Our gifts from the Father come through Jesus His Son, and
through the teaching and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
