Ezekiel 37:14

“And I will put My Spirit within you,
and you will come to life.”

God gave of Himself
by sending His Son into the world at Christmas time,
and at Pentecost the triune God
kick-started the Church
through the gift of His Spirit.
“I will put” means just that.
Always it is God giving of Himself.

Wonders of wonders He also does the same thing for us.
He said, “I will put My spirit within you.”
He said,
“unless one is born of water and the Spirit
he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.”
The triune God gives of Himself to us.
This can then lift us into
what Paul describes as the “seventh heaven.”

The final culmination of God’s gift to us
through His Spirit
is that we will “come to life.”
This is new life, spiritual life, in Christ Jesus.
As we celebrate God’s gift of Himself
to the Church at Pentecost
we can also celebrate His gift of His Spirit within us.

Jesus said,
“If I do not go away,
the Helper shall not come to you;
but if I go,
I will send Him to you.”
