Col 2:10
“And you have been given fullness in Christ”.
Our sense of belonging has come about
because we “have been given fullness in Christ”.
Also the joy of the Lord is found in what “you have been given”,
and not in what we have achieved or received.
The Word says through Paul
“all things work together
for those who are called according to His purpose”.
To accomplish this we must
turn “His purposes” into our achieving.
What we receive is “fullness in Christ”.
In Jesus it is the fullness of the Father.
At times Jesus must hold back from us
the fullness of the Father
because we are not quite ready for it.
Are we like children and comfortable with milk
when all the time we need meat?
Milk flows smoothly and easily down our throats
but we must work hard at digesting meat.
What a joy it is to know
that all the “fullness in Christ” is always available to us,
and this is a gift from God
that “you have been given”.
It is readily available to us,
but it will come first as milk and then as meat.
The Word speaks to us through Paul
“We have been baptized into Jesus Christ…
so let us walk in newness of life”.
