Fullness in Jesus

8th October 2012

SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-36

John 10:10
"I have come that you might have life,
and have it in all its fullness". (NASB)

If these words only had meaning
for those who heard Jesus speak them,
then we would be without hope.
No Jesus as saviour.
No forgiveness of sin.
.No promise of eternal life.

When Jesus spoke the word "you",
he meant not only the disciples,
but all of us.
Jesus' spoken word is as timeless
as God the "I am" is everlasting.

Most of us have the desire to achieve life
"in all its fullness".
This applies to our human life
and we will never achieve it.

It's God's promise in Jesus that we can have this life.
he represents the triune God,
and he, the living Lord, lives in us.
The "fullness" that Jesus speaks about
is found in him,
and he is the one who offers it to us.

The NLT translation says,
"my purpose is to give them
a rich and satisfying life".

It is why God sent him.
As Jesus said, "This is why
I have come".
