SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 8/21

1 Sam 13:14

“The Lord has sought out a man

after his own heart.”

 These are the words of Samuel

concerning God choosing a new king

to follow Saul.

 

This is how God operates: 

He is continually sorting out

or planning for our present.

But because we need 

at times to make decisions in a hurry,

we expect God to hurry with us. 

However, his plans always reflect

not only our present needs

but also our future needs.

 

God is also guided

by our attitude to him -

not by our thinking and planning -

but by how we feel

in our own hearts towards him.

 

God does plan to help us

in our immediate future plans,

but he is also planning

for us on into our future.

 

The final test for us is

not how we think about God in our minds,

but how we feel about him in our hearts.
