SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-7
Phil 2:13
"For God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases Him."
Too often we value our lives in terms of
what we have achieved.
Yet the Living Word, through Paul,
challenges us to be clearly committed to God
and to "do what pleases Him."
All our drive, energy, effort and pleasure
should be directed to pleasing God.
We do this not to seek for a reward
but because "God is working in you".
As children we can remember
the pleasure we had when we pleased our parents.
We please God when he gives us
the "desire" and "power"
to do what pleases him.
We need first to have
as our deepest wish and yearning
a "desire to please Him."
God has a plan,
and he knows what is best for us.
He is continually working
to fulfil that plan in our lives
by giving us the "desire" to "please" Him.
What is more, he continues to offer us the "power"
to accomplish his plan in our lives
even when we don't deserve it.
How difficult it is for us to "let go and let God!"
