SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 5/29
Phil. 2:13
"God is at work in you, both to will and work for His good pleasure."
God's "will" works in our minds and hearts.
His "works" in and through us become our witnessing.
It is easy for us to focus upon the words "in you",
and ignore that God also works through us
"for His good pleasure."
Too often we respond to worldly pressures
instead of God's "good pleasure" in us.
There is a difference between our human achievements
and "God at work in you."
God can only work His work in this world
through His "committed ones."
God works in us before He can work through us.
God achieves "His work in you" through His Son
and His Living Word guided by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said
"Whatever you ask the Father in My name,
He may give to you."
All that we do for God we do to glorify His name
and not for our own rewards.
It should be always for "His good pleasure"
and not for our advancement.
As we allow God to achieve His purposes in us,
we become better witnesses
in a world that desperately needs Him.
We do this not for our self-satisfaction
but "for His good pleasure."
What joy this brings us!
