SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 8/30

Phil. 2:8
"You are saved by his grace when you believe
and you cannot take credit for this."

We are guided by God's grace,
through the Holy Spirit,
and only then faith grows in us.

These words are all about
our committing ourselves
to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Wesley described this experience
in the following way.
"I felt my heart strangely warmed.
I felt I did trust in Christ,
Christ alone for salvation."

It is very difficult for us
to find a human explanation of
what God's grace means to us,
because grace is a God word
and defies our human reasoning.

Although we cannot describe grace
we can experience it
and experience its results in our hearts.

There are times when we have read
a passage of scripture many times
but all of a sudden we read it
with new light and understanding.

This is grace at work in us
and we feel drawn closer to God.
