SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 5/10
John 20:8
"He saw and believed."
John, standing in the empty tomb "saw and believed."
Thomas obeyed the Jesus' words, as He opened His nailed-scarred hands and proclaimed those faith-filled words,
"My Lord and my God."
We have a much-used saying today
"Seeing is believing."
But concerning our relationship with our living Lord,
we need faith and a belief in a loving God,
whom we cannot see.
Even with our spiritual eyes open
we must depend on our faith,
to believe in the un-believable.
For the disciples this was so.
They were expected to believe in the unbelievable:
that Jesus had actually conquered death.
They were fortunate that they lived in those God-inspired days
after Jesus' resurrection and before His ascension.
John "saw and believed."
We cannot see and believe Jesus
now He is ascended.
So we have to use different faculties
to see and believe.
We have the God-inspired Living Word,
the indwelling of the Holy Spirit
and the Risen Christ within.
We need nothing more
