SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-4
1 Pet 2:24
"By His wounds you are healed"
My heart is filled with joy and thanksgiving
every time I read these wonderful words written by Peter.
It is by Jesus' wounds that we are healed.
The driving of the nails into His hands and feet
caused His wounds.
It is "by His wounds" that "we are healed,"
and not because of what we achieve.
Here are wonders beyond belief:
That this should be the means of our redemption.
That a criminal hanging on a cross can heal us.
Even more so, that this was God's plan for His Son.
"Amazing love! How can it be
that Thou my God should die for me?"
This "healing" is an ever-present gift for us.
It is not that we will be,
but for sure we "are" healed.
At the dawning of each day
He does not come to us in judgment,
but "with healing in His wings."
I cannot look into the brilliance
of the first rays of sunshine each morning
except it warms my heart and life
with the power of God's love.
Whatever our condition of mind and body,
and during the events of each new day
His healing is always available.
We sing,
"did ere such love and sorrow meet
or thorns compose such rich a crown."
