"I will never leave you, I will never forsake you." HEB 13:5
 
Here is a wonderful verse to begin a New Year with.
 
It is not until we abide in the power of God's Word
that we can receive His promises.
 
"I will never" cannot apply to our earthly living. 
It is only God in Jesus who can make this promise.
 
It is only when we link the words
'leave' and 'forsake'
that we can recognise the depth
of this promise from God. 
 
As the psalmist says
"the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want".
Even then God says
'I will never leave you' nor 'forsake you'.
 
Throughout this year
and on into eternity
'I will never leave you.'
 
Not at any time
or in any circumstances
should we ever feel
that God’s guiding presence
is not with us.
