In all these things

Rom 8:37
"In all these things we overwhelmingly conquer
through Him who loved us."

These words, "In all these things we overwhelmingly conquer "
could seem to be a wonderful promise for us.
After all, these words comforted the Roman Christians who faced persecution, imprisonment and even death.
But then sometimes these powerful words don't even answer the nagging, little question, "What is God's will for me?"

Always, if we are in doubt
we should always seek an answer
from the Living Word of Jesus
He promised us, in John 16.33
"In the world you have tribulation, but take courage;
I have overcome the world."
Paul clarifies his teaching with these words,
"through Him who loved us."
We can become "overwhelming conquers"
because Jesus loves us and not through our own puny efforts.
How important it is that Jesus' love for us
does not just become a comfort blanket.
His love is warm, comforting and never-changing.
But it is more.
It is also pro-active, that's the nature of His love.
That is exactly what He is doing in our lives.
Psalm 59 says, "My God, in His loving kindness
goes before me"
His care for us is all-consuming because of His love.
He is involved in, and makes significant, the small,
as well as the life-changing events in our lives.
Jesus said "If you keep My Word, you will abide in My love."
