SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 8/20
John 6:15
“When Jesus saw that they were ready
to force him to be their King,
he slipped away into the hills by himself.”
This happened following the feeding of the 5,000.
Would Jesus be sad because
the crowd did not understand the significance
of the miracle?
I don’t think so.
This was one of the burdens
he carried during his earthly ministry.
He would know that the time
had not come for
their eyes to be opened,
their ears unstopped,
or their hearts softened.
This was the work of the Holy Spirit
who had not yet come.
Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb
and over Jerusalem
because the time had not come
for the Father’s plan to be fulfilled.
We should always remember
that Jesus was never alone,
He was always in his father’s presence
and always knew that all things
would be revealed
in God’s good time.
