SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 5/44

John 1:4
"In Him was life, and that life was the light of men."

John emphasises these words "life" and "light"
in his first chapter,
and he repeats them through the whole of his Gospel.
Life and light are God's gift to each one of us.
it is the embodiment of both light and life.
Life and light cannot be separated so
our life must be lived in God's "light".

When we think about these two words
"life" and "light" where do we begin?
We must begin with God first
and He give us life and light at the same time.
We cannot live without them both.
Nor can any human create these.
They are God's personal gift
to each one of us who are born.
Without God's gift of life, we are dead
and without God's light we are spiritually blind.

Jesus leaves us in no doubt that
God is interested in the smallest detail of our life.
Jesus says in relationship to God caring for us
in our time of trouble:
"not a hair of your head will perish.
By standing firm you will gain life."

My friends we have nothing to lose and everything to gain
if we obey Jesus when He says to us
"If you abide in Me and My word abide in you
ask whatever you wish and it will be given you."
