SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 8/18

 Deut 8:3

“We live by every word

that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

 

For us to understand these words

we must not seek to find an answer

through our human thinking.

 

In the Old Testament

God spoke directly to only a few:

 Moses, the prophets, priests and kings. 

All that changed

with the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ,

and of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

 

For us it is the task

of the Holy Spirit to share with us

“every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

 

We could not absorb ‘every word’

that comes from God.

Jesus’ Spirit in us

is sensitive to our needs

and can share with us

that portion of God’s truth  

that we need according to his wisdom.

 

Paul describes how it works:

“He (God) himself

gives all men life and breath

and everything else.”
