SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-26

John 8:31-32,36

The words of Jesus for us..

" If you abide in my word"
Jesus is asking us to allow the Word of God
to continually prompt, guide and live in us.

"Then you are truly my disciples"
A disciple is one who is being taught by Jesus
through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

"And you shall know the truth"
The task of the Son and Holy Spirit
is to reveal to us God's truth.
All we have to do is to
open our minds and hearts
to this guidance.

"And the truth shall set us free"
Nothing of this world will give us this freedom.
Only the triune God
can free us from our worldliness.

"Therefore the Son shall make you free"
Here is a statement of fact.
This is the work of Jesus
and should set our hearts on fire
with thanksgiving.

"And you will be free indeed"
This freedom is not of our doing
It is the gift of God and frees us
from the power of Satan's hold over us.
