SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 8/36

John 14:24
"Anyone who doesn't love me will not obey me."

These words are God's words
speaking to us through
the living word of Jesus.

Here God is saying to us that
it is his love that
lubricates our obedience
and not the other way around.
Our obedience grows
out of his love for us
and our love for him.

Jesus says:
"This is my commandment
that you love one another."
Our love for God grows out
of his grace working in us.

There is nothing
in all of our earthly experiences
that can bring us more joy
except pleasing him.

So our obedience grows
not out of our fear of him,
but because he loves us.
