SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-32
Philippians 4:4
"Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice". (NASB)
These words are God's gift for each one of us
provided we continually seek to "rejoice in the Lord always",
even in the ordinary events of life.
So often our happiness grows out of an event
within a fleeting moment of our life.
It just comes and goes,
and its fleeting memory has no lasting effect on us.
Here the Word is speaking of a
continuous, ongoing experience, that enriches our living.
My friends, we do not have to create this joy.
It's the Lord's joy that we are talking about.
All we have to do is to recognise it.
Jesus' promise to us is
"that you may be filled with my joy".
The word joy seems to be saying to me
continual, overflowing, Godly love and human happiness.
God's joy in us can enrich all of our human experiences
if we allow it to.
True rejoicing can come with our singing.
But there is a deeper experience when we rejoice with our hearts.
Herein is deep and enriching rejoicing.
It is rejoicing through the Spirit
and it's when we walk with the Lord,
in the light of his Word that this happens
Our joy always grows out of
Jesus' joy in us.
