Sing and Make Music

Eph 5: 19-20

"Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord...
always giving thanks to God"

One of the most uplifting moments in worship
is when we as the Body of Christ
"sing and make music" to our God.
But the word is here talking about making
"music in your heart to the Lord".
This can happen either in private or public worship.
There is a difference between worshipping God
with our voices or with our hearts.

It's amazing how many times the Living Word
encourages us to communicate with God
using our hearts.

To give "thanks to God" means we do it
not by what we think or believe about him
but how we feel in our hearts.

It might be difficult to list the reasons why
God should love us,
but it's not difficult to feel our heart strangely warmed
by his love.

"Always" means every time we
must begin with thanksgiving.

Then the wellspring of our thanksgiving
becomes "music in your heart",
and everything else
falls into its rightful place
and becomes true worship.
