1 Cor. 2:5
Here God’s Word is not talking about discovering faith
but how our faith can be sustained.
“Rest on” means to continually rely upon
or trust in “God’s power.”
As a globe needs electricity to produce light
or a car needs petrol to move forward
so we need “God’s power” to generate His light in us
so that we are able to move forward.
“God’s power” can seem remote and beyond our reach
when we think of Him as creator.
It is only when we link this “power” to His love for us
that it becomes personal and real.
To question God’s love for us
is to deny His true nature.
“Faith” here means trusting in God as the one who is
totally reliable and trustworthy.
Our faith allows God’s power and His love to sustain us.
We must always continually link God’s “power”
to His love for us.
God so loved, means just that.
For me to think of God’s power
coursing through me every day
is life-thrilling, wonderful and joyous!
Because God’s power is available to us each day,
each day we live with God.
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
