SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 6/35
Hebrew 1:1
"What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen."
In the beginning of our walk with Jesus,
He challenges us to follow Him.
This verse reminds us that our ongoing faith
is more than a simple “Yes.”
The further we have walked with Him
the more profound has become our understanding of our faith.
What wonderful words these are “confident assurance.”
They express for us that our “faith”,
our trust and belief in the Father and the Son is taking on a dimension for beyond our babes in Christ’s experiences.
It takes us on to
“what we hope for is going to happen” experiences.
In these later days we seem to have buried the promise of Eternal Life into a wishy-washy future promise.
The future hope has lost its “confident assurance”
and been replaced with promise just for today.
So often “what we hope for” is tied into our present hope and we struggle hard to make the promise of God’s Word a living reality for our future needs.
Yes, our present needs, for today, are important for us.
but it is important that our “confident assurance”
is linked into “what we hope for is going to happen”.
Can we sing again like they sung on old
“Shall we gather at the river?”
In confident assurance of God’s eternal kingdom
which gives us hope for today. in anticipation
of our entry into God’s eternal kingdom.
