SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 8/24
Phil 3:1
“Whatever happens, my brothers and sisters,
rejoice in the Lord.”
This is one of Paul’s great clarion cries.
Not only must we as Christians
live a joyful life
but our joy must be full and overflowing.
He says “rejoice, and again I say rejoice.”
And the joy of these words
is that our rejoicing is not centred
in what we have done
but in what God has done for us,
and what he shares with us.
All that he offers us is full up and overflowing.
His love, His joy and peace know no end.
In full measure he offers these to us
at any time and place,
and all this is contained
in the context of “whatever happens”.
It is even harder
when we need to rejoice
in our sorrows.
It is only God
who can help us to do this.
